Personal Commentary:
One of the most amazing things about Amsoil
is the fact that it has now been on the market for over 35
years, is advertised on vehicles in all types of racing, and it took us (and probably YOU) this long to
really pay attention to it!
Before you get down to specifics about which
Amsoil formulation is the proper selection for your vehicle, we suggest that
you spend some time with the videos on this web page and gain
some historical appreciation for the the company that pioneered
the development of synthetic oil for automotive use; long before
there was Mobil 1, there was Amsoil! And
after all these years, Amsoil continues to outperform its best
known competitor -

Explain this to your Mechanic:
-
You will no longer be visiting
his shop every 3000 miles.
-
You are willing to pay for labor
on an oil change, but you will be bringing your own oil and
filter.
-
If he would like to become an
authorized Amsoil reseller, you can recommend him to the
company.
Up until the early 70's, synthetic
lubricants were used only in severe applications like jet aircraft, because they could
withstand the extremes of temperature and stress that jet
engines produced. A fighter pilot named Al Amatuzio
pioneered the concept of synthetic motor vehicle oil, and
in 1972, his product became the FIRST 100% Synthetic
Motor Oil to earn A.P.I. (American Petroleum Institute) and
S.A.E (Society of Automotive Engineers) certifications.
Furthermore, and this claim was even more
shocking in 1972 than it is today, after 36 years of being
PROVEN ON THE ROAD, he stated that his motor oil would
only have to be
changed once a year, or every 25,000 miles.
How could this be possible? It is
simply because 100% Synthetic Motor Oil does not contain the
chemicals that are found in petroleum oil - chemicals that BY
THEIR VERY NATURE have a tendency to convert into wax, varnish,
and sludge over a period of time when exposed to heat, friction,
and combustion products.
Wax, varnish, and sludge are very poor
lubricants and very destructive to an engine - petroleum based
motor oil MUST be replaced frequently so that the accumulation
of these chemical elements does not have an opportunity to
destroy the motor.
Because of its extended service life, Amsoil
doesn't fit well in to the business model of the frequent repeat
customer that 'quick lube' and many other auto service centers
depend on for their 'bread and butter'. And, because you
are replacing as many as 8 petroleum oil changes with one
synthetic oil change, 'Big Oil' doesn't have a lot to say about
it either! But now that you know the alternative, we look
forward to seeing confirmation of your Amsoil order!
